Livret - Traversées :
la migration comme parcours et résistance

Note d'intention :

The Focus 8 association aims to bring art into dialogue with contemporary social and political issues. The exhibition takes a stand against dominant representations of migration. The simplified and reductive narratives disseminated in the public debate feed the rise of nationalisms and exclusive discourses by stigmatising migrants and obscuring the diversity of migration routes.

This exhibition aims to reveal the complexity of these paths: their trials, but also their essential contribution to society through the wealth they bring. It invites us to overcome prejudices in order to grasp the depth of these human realities. These works, which bear witness to what migration leaves behind, invite us to look at the signs in order to better understand what we have experienced. Some photographers share their own stories with you; others capture exiles, fragments of memory or encounters from the outside. All these complementary perspectives shape the migratory experience.
